The “Wow! Taiwan Project Healthcare Technology Vietnam Matchmaking Meeting” was held today (12th) at Vietrade in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This event is led by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Bureau of Foreign Trade and executed by the Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) as part of the “New Southbound Market Innovation Marketing Plan.” Through one-on-one face-to-face discussions and matchmaking, the goal is to introduce Taiwanese healthcare technology companies to Vietnam and assist in expanding the healthcare industry in the New Southbound markets.
Mr. Chang Wen-Chung, the head of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, delivered the opening remarks. He stated that Taiwan not only possesses abundant medical human resources and technology but also excels in integrating mature hardware technology with software solutions. As a result, Taiwan has mature and innovative products and solutions. Through this event, they hope to provide Vietnamese businesses with insights into Taiwan’s excellent medical equipment and solutions, fostering opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.
Ms. Bui Hoang Yen, representing the Ho Chi Minh City office of the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, expressed that many Taiwanese companies have showcased high-quality medical equipment and solutions at this event. These products align with the remote healthcare needs of Vietnam’s Ministry of Health for the period 2020-2025. Therefore, through this event, they aim to facilitate exchanges and collaboration opportunities between Taiwanese and Vietnamese enterprises.
According to CDRI, Taiwan’s healthcare industry has been strategically expanding into the New Southbound markets for some time now. In the past four years, the export growth rate of Taiwan’s medical and health products to the New Southbound markets has exceeded the overall export growth rate, driving opportunities for related industries and peripheral market values worth billions of NT dollars. The participating Taiwanese companies in this event include those involved in telemedicine, medical equipment, and care aids. Companies such as Boxin Medical Electronics, Fan Xuan Technology, Taiwan EasyDental, Hode Technology, Taiwan Active Lipids, Huirui Biotech, Hongchen Communication, Fuhsin Technology, and Furen Technology have all garnered interest from Vietnamese businesses.
On the Vietnamese side, more than 20 companies participated in this matchmaking event, including well-known local enterprises like VIMEDIMEX GROUP, HOPT, and MEDICAL TECHNICAL CONSULTATION CENTER. This event has facilitated cooperation discussions with Taiwanese companies such as Boxin Medical Electronics, Hode Technology, Fan Xuan System Technology, Taiwan Active Lipids, and Hongchen Communication.
This event has facilitated over 40 one-on-one matchmaking meetings between Taiwanese and Vietnamese companies, with the expectation of generating healthcare technology procurement opportunities for Taiwanese businesses exceeding 2 million US dollars.
